"Dakota is much more receptive to reading practice because he knows his tutor is asking for him to do it. He is more motivated with her and is slowly overcoming his reluctance to sound out words because she stresses that. Previously, when working with just me, he would refuse to sound anything out and expect me to TELL him every word he didn't know, then promptly forget it. I would have to TELL him the same word over & over. No retention. Now it's slow progress but it is progress and I can see that he may eventually be able to read well enough to read instructions and do his own work. I am totally satisfied with our progress and so happy he was matched with his tutor.”
